ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Abbi, the face behind Sunshine Coast Reiki. I live in Wurtulla on the beautiful Sunshine Coast with my husband Drew, fluffy dog Pompom and cuddly cat Toby James. I love the beach and being in nature, I am a fun-seeker and child at heart, and nothing makes me happier than giving to others – I want people to see in themselves the amazing person I see when I am with them. I feel truly grateful for what others give to me by just being a part of my life.

When I found Reiki, I found my purpose in life.
​
All my life I let my own insecurities stop myself from being free in moments. I let fear of failure and self-doubt stop me from putting myself out there or believing in myself and my own abilities. I let insignificant things worry me and affect my mood, and I then took this out on others. I let other people’s comments and actions affect me, and held onto them long after they had probably forgotten all about it. I believe we all have the ability to shape our own experience in life… but I never truly believed this about myself until I received Reiki. It unlocked something in me that helped to start clearing these fears and doubts that had held me back.

From my own personal journey with Reiki, I am now able to embrace my body and finally let go of self-consciousness. I have found new connections and friendships. I have more energy and am able to do more without feeling tired and burnt out. I have deep feelings of positivity and gratitude for life. The more I give and receive Reiki, the more these feelings continue to grow.
I look around and I see so many people who are just like I was, and I feel a deep calling to help others unlock healing, release fear and blocks, and find wisdom within themselves. This is what Sunshine Coast Reiki is all about.
It feels like such a privilege to be able to share Reiki and help facilitate these changes in other’s lives, and I truly love what I do.

My Reiki Lineage
I am able to trace my Reiki teachings back to the founder of Usui Reiki, Mikao Usui. This "family tree" shows the journey of Reiki through to me - I now have the knowledge of all these Masters, and when you learn Reiki with me, you will too.
A benefit of being able to trace your lineage back to Mikao Usui means your Reiki certification will be recognised by Reiki associations, should you choose to register with one.

Reiki originated in Japan, and came to the West mainly through Mrs Hawayo Takata who lived and taught in Hawaii. As such, two variations of Usui Reiki emerged, the Japanese style and the Western style.
I have studied with William Lee Rand who has learned from 4 masters of the Western lineage and 2 masters from the Japanese lineage, to gain the most comprehensive knowledge and teachings of Usui Reiki.

I teach all levels of Usui Reiki, Seichim (an energy tracing back to Ancient Egypt, Atlantis and Lemuria) and will be teaching Holy Fire® Reiki in 2024.

Reiki is my passion. I live by the Reiki principles and am always learning more about energy, Reiki, and living a high vibration life, as this makes me a clear channel, a better teacher and a more effective healer. I am an open book and am here to serve, share knowledge and bring more love and light to the World, and help others do the same.
